New York. The veteran actress Mary Tyler Moore will undergo a surgery for a brain tumor, said a representative.
Moore's doctors recommended the surgery after monitoring the tumor for a while, she said Alla Plotkin. Did not say when the procedure is performed.
The operation seeks to remove a meningioma, a slow-growing tumor in the membranes covering the brain. This type of tumor usually occurs in older people and are mostly benign.
Moore, 74, was released as a modern housewife in the 60's sitcom "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and later starred in his own series about a single woman looking for career development.
