Paris. The former Dior designer John Galliano to go on trial June 22 in Paris to face charges of racist insults, accusations that shook the world of fashion and cost him his prestigious job.
The creative was questioned by British police in February after a dispute at a bar in Paris. A couple who was there accused him of joint anti-Semitic remarks, and filed a complaint. Another woman accused him of similar insults.
The Paris court said the trial date today. Prosecutors have said that Galliano could face up to six months in prison and $ 31,000 in fines if convicted of "public insults on the basis of origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity" of a person.
Shortly after meeting the charges, circulated an online video in which he praises Adolf Hitler designer. Dior fired Galliano and condemned his comments. (Associated Press).
